Exploring Resilience in… Hong Kong

As part of the 11th Brunel International Lecture series 2016-2018, we ask participants to score the DIEM Nine Universal Roadblocks (NUR) Model to identify local priorities. We also ask what keeps them awake at night… In Hong Kong, their major concern was ‘FIRE’. Hong Kong, so many people, so many buildings, where ‘old’ and ‘new’ infrastructure merges. Hong Kong, a true ‘living lab’ where engineers, emergency managers and local community leadership are working together, for instance through the geotechnical specialist arm of the Hong Kong government, www.cedd.gov.hk
